SMBE 2026

Sustainability

Sustainability Responsibility

SMBE 2026 affirms its commitment to considering environmental and long-term impact in its operations.

The conference organizing industry often faces sustainability challenges, with many practices that are not environmentally responsible. It is therefore important to continuously strive to manage meetings and conferences in a more responsible manner, actively working towards more sustainable choices and helping participants to do the same.

Below, you’ll find an overview of how SMBE 2026 & CAP Partner act on this commitment through the lens of ESG — Environmental, Social, and Governance.
This framework helps ensure that sustainability is addressed across environmental impact, social responsibility, and transparent governance throughout the conference planning and execution, delineating key focus areas related to the organisation of the conference.

Our commitment

SMBE 2026 is committed to hosting a responsible and forward-looking international congress in Copenhagen.

Sustainability is integrated into the planning and delivery of the conference, guided by Copenhagen’s sustainability ambitions and the use of the Copenhagen Sustainability Guide 3.0, developed by Wonderful Copenhagen.

Our aim is to reduce the environmental footprint of the conference while creating long-term positive impact for participants and the host city.

Transparency and follow‑up

Sustainability actions for SMBE 2026 will be documented and reviewed following the conference.

As part of our collaboration with Wonderful Copenhagen, insights from the planning and delivery of SMBE 2026 will contribute to ongoing learning and development of more sustainable international congresses.
