We warmly welcome all participants to the SMBE 2026 Welcome Reception — the official kickoff of the conference! After the Plenary and Opening Session, we invite everyone to stay and join us for an informal gathering to celebrate the start of an inspiring week together.
Enjoy light refreshments, reconnect with colleagues, and meet new peers in a relaxed atmosphere right at the conference venue. It’s the perfect opportunity to start conversations, network, and pick up your name badge.

Morning Plogging Run/Walk

CopenPay: Plogging for free coffee and pastries – help keep Copenhagen free of litter
Join SMBE and Wonderful Copenhagen as we maintain the city’s streets, free of litter on June 30 at 7:30 o’clock.
Participate in plogging, a blend of exercise and environmental stewardship. There will be bags and gloves and as a token of appreciation for your green efforts, we offer free coffee and a Danish pastry.
The event is for everyone, whether you prefer to run or walk. And afterwards those in need of a refreshing dip are more than welcome to take the plunge in the harbour front located close to the Tivoli Hotel.

Join us for the SMBE 2026 Social Dinner — a relaxed and vibrant evening with great food, drinks, and music.
Bar: 19:00–22:30 (3 drinks: beer, wine, and soft drinks)
Unlimited street food: 19:30–21:00
Enjoy a sociable atmosphere with plenty of opportunities for networking, conversation, and dancing as the night unfolds.
The dinner takes place at BaneGaarden, Copenhagen’s unique green oasis built from upcycled wood, offering a charming setting with cozy courtyards and rustic barns. All food and drinks are 100% organic and sustainably sourced.
Tickets must be purchased via the conference registration. Availability is limited and offered on a first-come, first-served basis (non-refundable).
